Chef Dharshan Munidasa

MEET THE CHEF

Chef Dharshan Munidasa is a culinary trailblazer and the creative genius behind Ministry of Crab, a name synonymous with exceptional dining experiences. Born in Tokyo to a Sri Lankan father and Japanese mother, his multicultural heritage is intertwined into his approach to food.

Chef Dharshan’s knack for combining local ingredients with Japanese culinary philosophies created award-winning flavours that put Ministry of Crab Colombo on the global culinary map, proudly featured on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list from 2015 to 2022!

In 2023, he received the honour of being conferred ‘The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays’ by the Government of Japan in recognition of his distinguished contributions towards promoting Japanese Food Culture in Sri Lanka.
